It was a warm summer day at where I worked. The families were all pouring in getting their chairs set up and their snacks out. The children could not wait to get on the little slides that were just their size. The slide attendants and life guards were just getting in their spots, so the attractions could open. There was a slide attendant that we were all slightly bothered by. He was an old man with a beer gut about as old as him. He had to start at the family slides, and although we tried to keep him away from there because he was so creepy looking, due staffing one day, we had to send him there. Harry was only about 5’5 and always had a very badly shaved beard, which only added to his creepy look. My best friend of the summer, Jerry, was a fellow head guard. He was the head guard that all the workers would invite to stuff, and tell him things he never wanted to know. It was this specific day that line was ran through, and then washed away by the rain.
Jerry began to do his first lap around the water park, to start checking on people, and making sure everything was running the way it was supposed to. Harry was looking all around and saw him, obviously not paying attention to the slide, which automatically sent Jerry up to the top. Jerry walked up to the top and said, “Harry, you have to pay attention to your slide.” Harry then responded, “Hey, you should come over to my place later on and do crack with me and two other lifeguards.” My friend was just in shock because Harry asked this in front of children. Obviously my friend said no, and told Harry how he should not be talking around children like that and sent him to a different location.
In conclusion to this story, always remember that people are sometimes as grimy as you think, and drug test are able to be avoided. Watch your children and keep them safe away because crack and kids are to things that should never EVER go together.
